MK Tattoos is a complete tattoo studio resource for FiveM, designed to provide a modern, lightweight and configurable tattoo experience.
The resource works in both Standalone and ESX environments and includes its own tattoo persistence system, modern NUI interface, live character preview and configurable tattoo shops.
It includes more than 700 GTA / DLC tattoo entries and has been designed to work without requiring a full framework.
MK Tattoos can automatically detect the environment in which it is running.
Supported modes:
ESX is completely optional.
When ESX is available, MK Tattoos can use the framework for player identification, permissions and economy integration.
When ESX is not available, the resource automatically falls back to FiveM native systems.
Standalone player persistence uses the player's license: identifier.
The tattoo studio includes a custom NUI designed specifically for MK Tattoos.
The interface is:
The interface does not cover the entire screen, allowing the player to continuously preview their character while selecting tattoos.
Players can preview tattoos directly on their character before purchasing them.
The tattoo is temporarily applied while browsing and is only permanently saved after the purchase is confirmed.
This makes it possible to test different tattoos without committing to them immediately.
The preview camera automatically moves depending on the selected tattoo body zone.
Supported areas include:
The camera configuration can also be modified from config.lua.
Players can rotate their character directly while using the tattoo interface.
This allows tattoos to be inspected from multiple angles before purchasing.
Tattoo intensity can be adjusted directly from the tattoo interface.
Players can choose the desired tattoo visibility before applying it.
Supported intensity range:
10% – 100%
This makes it possible to create lighter or more pronounced tattoo effects.
MK Tattoos includes a large catalog containing GTA Online and DLC tattoo definitions.
The included tattoo catalog contains approximately:
777 tattoo definitions
Tattoo entries are divided by body zone and displayed inside the tattoo interface.
Purchased tattoos are saved inside the MK Tattoos database.
Player tattoos are automatically restored when the player joins the server.
The system does not rely on ESX skin tables for tattoo persistence.
This allows the resource to work independently from the selected framework.
Players can also remove tattoos they previously purchased.
Removal prices can be configured separately from purchase prices.
The system automatically updates the player's saved tattoo collection.
Server owners can configure multiple tattoo studio locations.
Each shop can have configurable:
Additional shops can be added directly from the configuration.
MK Tattoos supports different interaction methods.
If ox_target is installed, the resource can automatically use target interactions.
If ox_target is not installed, MK Tattoos automatically uses its own native FiveM interaction fallback.
This means ox_target is completely optional.
MK Tattoos includes optional compatibility with:
illenium-appearance
If illenium-appearance is running, MK Tattoos automatically reapplies saved tattoos after supported appearance / outfit refresh events.
The appearance resource is not required for MK Tattoos to start.
Because standalone FiveM servers can use many different economy systems, MK Tattoos includes configurable payment behavior.
Standalone servers can connect their own economy through the editable configuration/hooks.
Default standalone payment behavior can also be configured independently.
ESX servers can automatically use framework accounts when enabled.
Standalone admin permissions can be managed using FiveM ACE permissions.
Example:
add_ace group.admin mk_tattoos.admin allow
Framework permissions can also be used when running the resource in ESX mode.
A custom tattoo importing system is currently being developed for MK Tattoos.
The goal is to allow server owners to register and manage custom addon tattoos directly from the resource without manually editing the main tattoo catalog.
Planned functionality includes:
The custom tattoo importer is currently an experimental feature and is still being tested.
It is therefore not considered a stable production feature in the current release.
Experimental importer functionality is disabled by default and may change during development before its official release.
The resource includes an editable config.lua.
Server owners can configure:
Required:
Optional:
The optional resources are automatically detected when available.
Import the included SQL file into your database.
Place mk_tattoos inside your resources folder.
Add the resource to your server.cfg.
Example:
ensure oxmysql
ensure ox_lib
ensure mk_tattoos
If using ESX:
ensure es_extended
ensure mk_tattoos
If using ox_target:
ensure ox_target
ensure mk_tattoos
MK Tattoos is distributed using FiveM Asset Escrow.
Core resource logic is protected.
Files required for server configuration remain accessible.
Editable files include:
config.lua
data/imports/*.json
sql.sql
This allows server owners to configure the resource while keeping the core implementation protected.
MK Tattoos has been designed to remain lightweight while idle.
Native interaction checks are optimized and optional resources are only used when they are detected.
